The Best Bits: My February 2026 Favorites

The Best Bits is a monthly series where I tell you what I’ve been up to! What I’m doing, media I’m loving, and products I recommend! Here’s a fresh batch of favorites for your reading pleasure!

BEAUTY | Pixi Glow Tonic

I picked back up using this after the holidays and my skin has been thanking me! My skin always seems to need extra exfoliation, so I use this toner every other day and the glow has been noticeable!

STYLE | Tommy Hilfiger Trench Coat

A trench coat was something I didn’t know was missing from my wardrobe until I started wearing one. It takes a normal outfit and adds just enough polish to make me feel more put together and styled. It’s a classic for a reason!

READING | Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater by Alanna Okun

I’ve taken my knitting obsession to the next level and started reading about it too! This book of essays is heart warming, informative, and inspiring. I picked it up from my local library and I’m glad I did!

CRAFTS | Stella Quilt Cushion and Stripe Hype Sweater

If there’s one theme to my knitting this season, it’s that I am craving COLOR! I’m focusing on finishing up some scrap yarn, trying out new techniques, and using just about every color I can get my hands on!

WATCHING & LISTENING | Wuthering Heights

My friend Emily and I got together to see Wuthering Heights and it did not disappoint! I could spend a whole day drooling over Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie. I know it’s a controversial film, and pretty much all criticisms of the piece are valid. I enjoyed the visual storytelling and the chemistry between the actors. True to the book? Maybe not, but I still liked it!

IN THE KITCHEN | 52 Week Cookbook Challenge

Bread Pudding from Virginia Hospitality

I chose this recipe because we had a ton of leftover bread that we needed to use up. It was really good, and I would make it again, but it didn’t blow us away. Great solution to a too-much-bread situation though!

Pasta with Brown-Buttered Mushrooms, Buckwheat, & Egg Yolk from Dining In by Alison Roman

I vaugely remember having made this in the past and enjoying it, but this was another recipe that didn’t really knock our socks off. No complaints, but it didn’t secure a long term spot in our weeknight rotation.

Hummus from The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook by Ina Garten

This hummus was good, but I’ve tried other recipes that were better. I do appreciate how simple Ina’s recipes are!

Dark Chocolate Cookies from Hershey Chocolate Lover’s Cookbook

These cookies were definitely the winner this month! I’m saving this recipe as a go-to for the next time I need to bake cookies for an event or gathering!

SHOPPING | Travel Essentials and Spincycle Yarns

I found the best toiletry bag! Weird sentence, but I’ve been living in the woes of an overflowing makeup bag for quite a few years now. I pack light, so I know it was a bag issue and not a case of the “too much gene” striking me down. If you’d like to try it yourself, check out the L.L. Bean Medium Personal Organizer. Thank me later!

I’ve also had a recent fascination with Spincycle Yarns, particularly their Dyed in the Wook and Nocturne varieties that create a unique marled, color-changing effect. I purchased Evening Primrose and plan to make an Ooey Gooey Cowl with it!

OBSESSIONS | Curating Our Wedding Album

I spent quite a few hours this month pouring over our wedding photos and selecting just the right ones to have printed in our albums. I’m using Artifact Uprising, since I’ve always been impressed with the quality of their prints. This will be my first time purchasing an album from them, and I’m excited to see how they turn out!

LITTLE MOMENTS | A Weekend in the Mountains

This month we took a little jaunt to the Pocanos and did some “glamping” for the weekend! Cherry enjoyed meeting a ton of new friends walking around in Jim Thorpe, and we also visited the largest general store in the US! (I’d recommend skipping that though 😂) It was a nice little getaway, and we can’t wait to do some camping once the weather warms up a bit!

What are your favorite things this month?

peanut butter eggs that might just be better than peanut butter eggs that might just be better than that one famous brand 😉

recipe:
2 cups sugar
½ cup milk
¼ cup butter
6 ounces peanut butter
3 oz marshmallow creme
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
1 bag chocolate chips or melting wafers

Add sugar, milk, and butter to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir continuously for 5 mins, then remove from heat.

Stir in peanut butter and marshmallow creme, then slowly incorporate flour and stir until combined.

Pour mixture onto a pan lined with parchment paper and allow to cool for about 30 minutes. When cool enough to handle, shape into eggs, insert a toothpick into each one, and allow to set completely. Then chill in the fridge or freezer for an hour or more to avoid any melting when dipped.

Melt the chocolate, dip each egg, allow to harden and enjoy! 🍫😋

These are the ladies that never fail to remind me of the magic of life. I can’t express how much it means to me that they gathered to spend time in nature and be silly with me. My heart is full and my face hurts still hurts from smiling! And as the song says… it’s in our nature to look out for each other in the heart of the woods 💕🌲
