welcome to thyme and butter!

Hello friends! You’ve stumbled across thyme and butter, the corner of the internet where I have the pleasure of sharing everything I love! This space is dedicated to celebrating the creative spirit, embracing the beauty of the seasons, and reflecting on little things that make every day meaningful.

I’m Jess. For more about me, check out my author page!

The idea for thyme and butter was born in 2023 when I started a newsletter to share my favorite recipes on Substack. I’ve been posting there for about two years, and it has been so fun to see family and friends making my creamy mushroom soup or my southern buttermilk biscuits! While writing my newsletter, I quickly realized I wanted to do more, so I decided to take another big step and start publishing here! If you’re a Substack subscriber, don’t fret, the newsletter community isn’t going anywhere. You can sign up here to get a new recipe in your inbox every month! All those recipes are also a part of the thyme and butter blog, and joy of all joys, each and every recipe page now has a print button! On this blog you’ll also find exclusive content that won’t be posted over on Substack! To view all of my recipes, click here.

Cooking and baking are cornerstones of this blog as have always been some of the most special ways to bring people together. No matter your age or where you’re from, there’s so much to learn and share in the kitchen. I welcome novice cooks, experienced professionals, and everyone in between to pull up a seat with me and we’ll dig right in!

Here are a few other topics you can expect to see covered on thyme and butter!

Seasonal Living

I’m excited to share ideas for capturing the best moments of every season. Setting a festive spring table, finding the ripest summer berries, or turning your home into a snuggly retreat during fall and winter, you can expect seasonal recipes, tips, and little rituals to make every time of year feel special!

Crafts and Creativity

This blog is also a place for all the crafters, dreamers, and makers out there. Crafting isn’t only about the finished project, it’s about the joy of creating something completely your own! I can’t wait to share tutorials, inspiration, and of course a few mistakes and do-overs along the way. Chasing the creative buzz is always time well spent!

Gardening and Nature

My garden is my happy place, and I can’t wait to share it with you! You’ll find posts about cultivating your own garden, even if it’s just a few herbs on a window sill, as well as musings on connecting with nature in all its forms. I’ll also share updates from my own garden, tips for beginners, and ways to bring a little of the outdoors inside!

Personal and Interior Style

I’ve always loved vintage style and creating cozy, welcoming spaces that feel unique to me. Here, you’ll find my journey toward curating my personal style, tips for decorating on a budget, and ideas for making your home the ideal place for you. Whether it’s putting together a capsule wardrobe, finding the perfect thrifted treasure, or putting the finishing touches on a room, I’m here to help you embrace your own unique style!

Thank you so much for being here, I hope you’ll stay a while! 🌿🧈
