The Cozy Crafting Edit: 16 Crafts to Make as Gifts

When the temperatures get cooler out there’s nothing I love more than curling up with a craft. Over the years I’ve tried and loved many a craft – cross stitching, knitting, diamond painting, quilting, and beading to name a few. Often times I get a little too excited to start projects and end up with quite a few unfinished objects, but with so much inspiration out there, you can’t really blame me! For this post, I picked out quite a few items and craft projects that inspired me, and maybe they will inspire you to get crafting too! As you know, holiday gift season is upon us!

ONE | Pinecone Wreath

This wreath is the perfect excuse to take a hike to forage for pinecones and bring some of that nature back home with you!

TWO | Evergreen Fiber Works Hand-dyed Yarn in Terrasen

I’m a sucker for pretty yarn, and and this particular color was inspired by one of my favorite book series, Throne of Glass. Perfect for the crafty reader!

THREE | Coneflower Beaded Earrings

Seed bead jewelry is a new obsession for me, and the few projects I’ve tried have been more simple than I expected. These earrings would bring a smile to any gardener’s face.

FOUR | Knitted Baby Blanket

I love how this blanket combines quilting with knit fabric, perfect for any babies or moms-to-be in your life!

FIVE | Embroidered Felt Ornaments

Embroidery is so soothing, and I bet these ornaments would come together in an afternoon or two!

SIX | Handpainted Taper Candles

These candles would be a hit at any dinner party!

SEVEN | Dried Flower Art

This artists does floral prints with an array of beautiful flowers. I love the attention to detail and intricate placement, how lovely would it be to press wildflowers and display them like this?

EIGHT | Beaded Tourmaline Bracelet

Tourmaline is said to cleanse and purify energy, and it comes in every color under the sun. The perfect jewelry to wear when you might need an extra boost.

NINE | Beaded Flower Bracelet

These bracelets remind me of being a kid in the summer time. Beaded daisies are back, baby!

TEN | Granny Square Blanket (Similar Pattern)

This blanket is the perfect project for anyone that loves to crochet!

ELEVEN | Vintage Brooch Ornament

Crafting these ornaments give you an excuse to visit the thrift store to sort through the fun gaudy jewelry, and that sounds like the perfect day to me!

TWELVE | Needle Punch Stocking Kit

These stockings are so cute and would be so fun to make! The perfect new family heirloom.

THIRTEEN | Quilted Tote Bag

A tote like this would be the perfect scrap busting project!

FOURTEEN | Beaded Curtain

My best friend Emily and I made a few similar strands to use as sun catchers in our windows, and they were so fun and easy to make!

FIFTEEN | Knitted Strawberry Pattern

How fun would a whole set of knitted fruits and veggies be?!

SIXTEEN | Beaded Ice Cream Charms

These ice cream charms are so stinkin’ cute, and can be made in any flavor!

lessons from my garden this year🍐🥕🌷 1. Yo lessons from my garden this year🍐🥕🌷
1. You really can’t beat the satisfaction of building something from nothing.
2. When in doubt, choose the most colorful option.
3. A garden really doesn’t cost anything except time, money, blood, sweat, and tears.
4. It pays to plant your rows neatly, even if it takes twice the time.
5. Herbs and tomatoes are always a great start.
6. The juice will be worth the squeeze, especially if you like squeezing!
7. It’s true what they say... hoeing ain’t easy!
8. Pests come in all shapes and sizes. For us this year, it was wind and deer.
9. For a gardener, the saying should be “nothing is certain except death, taxes, ticks, and poison ivy”
10. When it comes to flowers and friends, the best ones are perennial 💐
