The Best Bits: My October 2025 Favorites

The Best Bits is a monthly series where I tell you what I’ve been up to! What I’m doing, media I’m loving, and products I recommend! Here’s a fresh batch of favorites for your reading pleasure!

READING | Finding Grace by Loretta Rothschild

This book was a departure from anything I’ve read recently, and it kept me hooked all the way through! The first chapter ends with a huge twist, and I think this would make a fantastic book club discussion!

WATCHING | Dark

David suggested we start watching this Netflix show and we got deep into it really fast! This year we’ve been watching quite a bit of sci-fi between catching up on Severance and Silo, so adding this show on was definitely on theme. The acting is superb and it does get quite complicated as it has a very large cast, but if you like time travel, dystopias, or cults it’s a must see!

WEARING | All Things Warm

It got COLD this month, and fast! I’ve been grabbing my sweats and slippers a lot sooner this year than I expected. I’m in need of some new winter clothes, so it looks like I will be shopping for those ASAP!

EATING | Key Lime Fridge Cake

I saw this recipe on Instagram and knew immediately that I had to make it. While it’s a bit of an odd time of year for key lime pie, I’d highly recommend it. It was really tasty!

INDULGING | Fall Planted Bulbs

I have dreams of a big garden bed full of daffodils, and I am one step closer now! I bought a couple multipack bags of bulbs and a few specialty varieties to mix in, and I’m hoping I’ll get some really gorgeous daffodil bouquets for years to come!

ADMIRING | Watercolor Art

I was given a set of watercolor paints for my birthday this year, and I’ve been wanting to devote some time to learning the craft again! I did a lot of watercolor painting back when I was in college, but it’s been quite some time since I’ve picked up the brush! I’m hoping I’ll be able to carve out some watercolor time in the near future!

OBSESSING | Bridesmaids Knits

I’ve only have a little time bit of time this month to finish up the knitted gifts I’ve been making for my bridesmaids, and I’m confident I’ll get them done but I’m definitely feeling the crunch! I think I’ll need to rest my wrist quite a bit once I’m finished.

CELEBRATING | Wedding Countdown!

We are getting down to the final days before our wedding and it’s starting to feel surreal! We’re polishing off the final details and doing our last minute checks, answering quite a few emails and ironing everything we can get our hands on! We’re both super excited and ready to party with our friends and family! It’s going to be great to finally be able to soak it all in after over a year of putting it all together!

What are your favorite things this month?

peanut butter eggs that might just be better than peanut butter eggs that might just be better than that one famous brand 😉

recipe:
2 cups sugar
½ cup milk
¼ cup butter
6 ounces peanut butter
3 oz marshmallow creme
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
1 bag chocolate chips or melting wafers

Add sugar, milk, and butter to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir continuously for 5 mins, then remove from heat.

Stir in peanut butter and marshmallow creme, then slowly incorporate flour and stir until combined.

Pour mixture onto a pan lined with parchment paper and allow to cool for about 30 minutes. When cool enough to handle, shape into eggs, insert a toothpick into each one, and allow to set completely. Then chill in the fridge or freezer for an hour or more to avoid any melting when dipped.

Melt the chocolate, dip each egg, allow to harden and enjoy! 🍫😋

These are the ladies that never fail to remind me of the magic of life. I can’t express how much it means to me that they gathered to spend time in nature and be silly with me. My heart is full and my face hurts still hurts from smiling! And as the song says… it’s in our nature to look out for each other in the heart of the woods 💕🌲
